Coastal Cleaning for a brighter Community

81IB, STA. CRUZ, ILOCOS SUR – The Army Troops of 81st Infantry (SPARTAN) Battalion provided humanitarian assistance in tandem with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sta Lucia, Ilocos Sur and Youth Sector during the Coastal Clean-up in the six (6) barangays in Sta Lucia, Ilocos Sur.

In connection with the “Linggo ng Kabataan”, the activity aims to bring environmental awareness to the people especially in this time of crisis and encourage them to support the advocacy in saving our mother earth.

Through the coordinations made by and between the Local Government Unit of Sta Lucia and its Youth Sector; the locals of Brgys Sabuanan, Vical, Luba, Paratong, Bao-as and Nangalisan all of Sta Lucia, together with the LGU and troops from 81IB and Sta Lucia MPS conducted simultaneous coastal cleaning that started at around 7 o’clock in the morning, yesterday.

“In behalf of the Youth of Sta Lucia we are again grateful for the continued support and guidance of the Army to our youth activities here in our municipality. It really shows that they care not only in our safety but also care about our environment”. said Hon Rica Jae S Ablang, SK Federated President said.
