Navy rescues 16 passengers of distressed Motorbanca at Caluya Island, Antique

Headquarters, Naval Forces Central, Lapu-Lapu City, March 9, 2021 – Navy vessel BRP Enrique Jurado PC 371 in response to a distressed call, conducted Search and Rescue Operations of Motorbanca Raffy B and its passengers at vicinity seawaters of Caluya Island, Antique last Saturday night, March 6, 2021.


The motorbanca was found dead on waters 150 yards East off Caluya Island, Antique with 16 personnel onboard. During the interview of Boat Captain Arbel Dalisay, the motorbanca encountered problems with her propeller shaft and engine that caused them to be dead on water for more than 3 hours. The rescued motorbanca and passengers were turned over to Philippine Coast Guard Boracay for proper disposition.


The successful search and rescue operations of PC371 portrays the commitment of the Philippine Navy to act on incidents and emergency situation in our Philippine territorial waters.
