Startroopers celebrate AFP’s 85th Founding Anniversary

CAMP MELCHOR F DELA CRUZ, Upi, Gamu, Isabela- The 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army joins the simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony in connection with the 85th Founding Anniversary Celebration of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on December 21, 2020 at Camp Melchor F. Dela Cruz, Upi, Gamu, Isabela.

MGen Laurence E Mina PA, Commander of 5ID commended the men and women of the AFP for standing up for the people against the enemies of the state, as CoVid-19 pandemic frontliners and as first responders during calamities and disasters.

MGen Mina also acknowledged the contribution and gallantry of the fallen heroes and the present-day Startroopers deployed in far-flung areas. “The 5th Infantry (STAR) Division celebrates the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ 85 years of selfless service to the nation. We give honor to the brave heroes who laid the foundation of the organization and we take pride of every Startroopers’ deep commitment to serve the people and secure the land. We thank you for your continued support and we will remain to be the #AFPyoucanTRUST!”

With the theme “Pinag-isang lakas na maaasahan ng Pilipino,” the Startroopers unite to salute the bravery, dedication and sacrifices of the men and women of the Armed Forces leading to the success of the organization. Thus, the AFP is recognized as the most trusted organization among the Government Agencies based from the PUBLiCUS Asia, Inc. 2020 survey. The AFP considers the result as a testament of the commitment and devotion to duty of all the brave men and women of the armed forces.
