Escaped Kidapawan inmate caught in Maguindanao

CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao – An escaped inmate of North Cotabato District Jail in Kidapawan City is back behind bars, following a joint operation yesterday morning (February 20, 2018).

 

Ismael D. Abas was apprehended in Pagatin, Datu Piang of Maguindanao by the combined elements of 2nd Mechanized Infantry Battalion, Bureau of Jail and Management Penology (BJMP) of North Cotabato, and PNP-Midsayap after acting on an intelligence report of the presence of a wanted personality.

 

The escapee has an outstanding warrant of arrest for frustrated parricide and illegal possession of firearms and explosive filed at Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 22 in Kabacan, North Cotabato.

 

Maj Gen Arnel B. Dela Vega, Commander of 6th Infantry Division, said that the operation was successful through coordinated Law Enforcement Support Operation (LESO) with other government agencies/forces.

 

Abas was one of the detainees who fled the jail during an attack by armed men last January 04, 2017.
