MAGPET, North Cotabato – Three CPP-NPA Terrorists (CNTs) die in a clash against government troops under 19th Infantry COMMANDO Battalion (19IB), earlier today, around 6:45 AM, July 6, 2018 at Brgy Don Panaca, Magpet, North Cotabato.

Encounter between 19IB and 50 Communist NPA Terrorists of Pulang Bagani Command 2 (PBC2) of Southern Mindanao Regional Committee lasted for one hour that resulted to 19IB’s recovery of one M16 riffle and three dead bodies of Communist NPA Terrorists that are yet to be identified as of the time of release.

“Civilians relayed information to our Community Support Program Team deployed that there were presence of armed NPA terrorists in the area that prompted us to launch operations.” Lieutenant Colonel Ehrlich Noel Paraso, Commanding Officer of 19th Infantry Battalion said.

Community Support Program (CSP) teams are deployed to priority areas as part of the Philippine Army’s campaign to assess the issues in the barangays and later relay it to the government agencies and government units for them to take actions and solve the issues.

Colonel Larry Mojica, Commander of the 901st Infantry Brigade said, "I am extending my condolences to the friends and families of NPA terrorists who died in the clash with government troops.

It have not resulted into this if only these terrorists heeded the call of the government to lay down their arms and go back to the folds of the law.” Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) is a reintegration program of the government that regular NPA surrenderees and Milisyang Bayan can avail if they decide to surrender and go back to the mainstream society to live a normal life.

“I congratulate the dedication shown by the troops of 19th Infantry Battalion. They came in 4ID’s area of responsibility just early this year, yet they managed to contribute to the over-all campaign of the Division.

Further, 4th Infantry Division is really serious in going after the NPA terrorist but, we are not closing doors for them. In fact, the government has ECLIP that NPA surrenderees can avail if they decide to surrender and be a productive member of the society.

The local government of North Cotabato under Governor Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza have been very supportive to surenderees, both 4ID and the Provincial government of North Cotabato are willing to assist the surrenderees in their reintegration process.” Major General Ronald Villanueva, Commander of 4th Infantry Division said.
