AFP awards soldiers, civilians for their outstanding service

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) recognized 16 soldiers and four (4) civilian personnel for their selfless service and sacrifices to the nation on Monday, 03 September 2018 at the Bulwagang Balangiga, General Headquarters (GHQ).

 

The Distinguished Aviation Cross medal was awarded to Maj Juan Paolo V Yarte PAF for his efforts as Aerial Flight Pilot during the conduct of re-supply and pick-up of wounded personnel over the conflicted areas in Marawi City last year.

 

Awarded with the Gold Cross medal were 1Lt Marwan O Tawantawan PA, 1Lt Dexter Batton PA, SSg Francis C Gepulla PAF, SSg Jonathan S Dalimeg PA, Sgt Harley I Serrano PA, and Cpl Darwin C Loquing PA for their respective contributions in the fight against terrorists in different parts of the country.

 

Meritorious Achievement medals were given to Sgt Vergie S Austero PAF, PO2 Isagani A Gecale PN, Capt Hercopel C Pelayo PN, LTC Marvin B Domingo PA, SSg Cornelio C Lopez Jr PA, and Cpl Michael T Orencia PA for their engagements with AFP offices and units in the study, development, formulation, and revision of different SOPs and publications.

 

Four civilian employees also received commendation and medal from the AFP. Ms Abbylou Charizze M Lazo received the Gawad sa Kaunlaran for her contribution in the improvement of the quality of life of Marawi KIA and WIA beneficiaries, while Plaque of Recognition were given to Ms Nelia F Sim, Ms Rosemarie B Sta Ana, and Ms Cecilia R Florendo.

 

LTC Danilo T Facundo PN(M), LTC Thomas Ryan R Seguin PAF, and LTC Francis A Señoron PA also received the Plaque of Recognition for their outstanding job performance.

 

AFP Chief of Staff General Carlito Galvez Jr earlier vowed to recognize soldiers and civilian employees for their outstanding achievements and excellent contribution to the AFP.

 

“As we pay tribute to the gallantry and sacrifices of our soldiers, we equally acknowledge the indispensable services of our hardworking civilian employees who continue to uphold public service excellence,” General Galvez said in a speech delivered by AFP Vice Chief of Staff Lt Gen Salvador Melchor Mison Jr.
