81IB Participates in Centennial Celebration of Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur

81IB, STA. CRUZ, ILOCOS SUR – The Alpha Company of 81st Infantry (SPARTAN) Battalion led by 1st Lieutenant Jade Lyzterdan P Gavino PA, Company Commander, participated in the Centennial Celebration of Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur.


The celebration started on February 11 and culminated on March 5, 2012. Series of activities were conducted as highlights during their Centennial celebration. On 02 March 2019, SPARTAN Troopers rendered free haircut to the residents of Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur during the Health and Wellness Day. During the said activity, ninety-six (96) residents availed of the free service. The unit also deployed troops together with the Banayoyo Municipal Police Station (MPS) to secure the people and maintain peace while they are celebrating their 100th founding anniversary.



Local Government Unit of Bananyoyo, Ilocos Sur expressed their sincere appreciation and thanked the 81st Infantry Battalion for their free service and in making the town fiesta celebration peaceful.


Lieutenant Colonel Charles DZ Castillo PA, Commanding Officer of 81IB, said, “The successful centennial celebration of Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur is a result of strong partnership with the community and the government. Your Army, particularly the 81IB, will continue to support the initiatives of the local governments; it is our core purpose, serving the people and securing the land.”
