Doña Remedios Trinidad Declares CNTs Persona Non Grata

Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija - The Municipality of Doña Remedios Trinidad (DRT), Bulacan created a resolution declaring CPP-NPA Terrorists (CNTs) persona non grata on March 19, 2019.


The proposal for a resolution came from the 48th Infantry (Guardians) Battalion which is based in Bulacan.


Lieutenant Colonel Felix Emeterio M Valdez, the Acting Commanding Officer of 48IB, proposed the idea during the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) of DRT last March 12, 2019.


The MPOC was presided by Honorable Mayor Ronaldo T. Flores, Municipal Mayor of DRT. It was attended by the different department heads of the Local Government Units (LGUs) of DRT, Police Senior Inspector Isabelo Mondejar, Chief of Police, DRT and the members of the Sanguniang Bayan.


The resolution was formed in line with the Memorandum Circular No. 2018-211 of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) with the Subject: Prohibition of Support to Left Wing Rebel Group, and Executive Order No. 70: Institutionalizing the whole-of-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace, creating a national task force to end local communist armed conflict, and directing the adoption of a national peace framework.


Major General Lenard T Agustin, Commander, 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, emphasized, “the whole-of-nation approach marks the start of a new campaign to end the insurgency, and those who religiously practice this approach give the people a chance to have better and more peaceful lives.”


Lt Col Valdez said, “This is where we come a step closer to the lasting peace we aim for. The declaration speaks in behalf of the people of DRT that they are ready to embrace the lasting peace for sustainable development in the years to come.”
