7 armed NPAs neutralize by Inter-Agency Security Forces in Rizal, Nueva Ecija

Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija –Seven armed Communist New People's Army  (NPA) Terrorist (CNT) and extortionists under Komiteng Larangang Gerilya Sierra Madre were neutralized in a focused military operation of  Inter-Agency Security Forces initiated by 84th Infantry (Victorious) Battalion, 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army; together with the elements of 69th Infantry (Cougar) Battalion;  and the Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Office on November 14, 2019  at around 2:30 p.m in the vicinity of Barangay Estrella, Rizal, Nueva Ecija.

 

Two of the seven neutralized NPAs were killed, four were wounded, and one was captured, while no casualty was reported on the government forces.

 

According to the report provided by Lieutenant Colonel Honorato S. Pascual Jr., Commanding Officer of 84IB, the wounded NPAs were immediately given first aid by the operating troops and were rushed to the nearest Hospital for treatment, the two killed were turned over to the Local Government unit of Rizal, Nueva Ecija, while the captured NPA was turned over to the  custody of Rizal Municipal Police Station for further investigation and filing of appropriate cases.

 

The troops engaged the  armed NPAs in a fierce firefight that lasted for 15 minutes.

 

Recovered from the armed NPAs were the following items: two M16 rifles, three caliber .45 pistols, one hand grenade,  15 M16 magazines, two .45 pistol magazines, two handheld Motorola radios, 14 cellphones, one Samsung tablet, subversive documents and extortion letters.

 

Major General Lenard T. Agustin, the 7ID Commander, congratulated the troops for their courageous actions and left a strong message for the rest of the  CNTs in the province of Nueva Ecija. “For the past two weeks, there has been a series of surrender in Nueva Ecija, and in neighboring provinces as well. We welcomed them and gave all the assistance, benefits and protection we could, to ensure that they will have the chance to start a new life. But for those who persist to challenge the duly constituted laws of the land, hinder peace and development, and sow fear in the hearts of our people, be ready for we are coming after you. We will not let you exploit the people and take advantage of their weaknesses. If you refuse our offer of help and would rather fight it out, then consider your days numbered.”
