November 21, 2019

IMPASUGONG, Bukidnon, Nov 15- A total of 167 members of the Kahugpong Sa Mag-uuma in Bukidnon (KASAMA-BUKIDNON) withdraw membership and support to the Communist Terrorist groups during the Army’s Community Support Program Grand Pulong-pulong in Apo Macote, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, November 15, 2019.

The KASAMA-BUKIDNON is a Farmer’s organization helping the Communist Terrorist Groups of the Sub-Regional Committee 2, North Central Mindanao Regional Command. Among their communal farms pinpointed by the members was at Barangay Apo Macote and been said as a source of NPAs food.

Realizing the truth that the communist rebels will turn only the community into chaos, they immediately withdrew in front of the nearly one thousand five hundred people their membership and support to the CPP-NPA-Terrorists in an assembly with the representatives of the Local Government Unit and National Agencies.

Mr. Frelly, one of the members and owner of the farm in his testimony, shared how the organization started and the trouble they have, “the NPAs helped us claim our farm, that’s how it started, I believed in them that they will truly help the farmers like us but I was shocked that in every harvest time, they will get 70% share and leave us only 30%, we have families to feed!”

An open forum was conducted after Representatives from the City Government and National Agencies informed all the audiences of their programs and services.

Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Illana, the commanding officer of the 8th Infantry Battalion addressed the request of the Barangay for a possibility of having a Patrol Base and reminded them on their protection from the International Humanitarian Law that they are not part of the armed conflict and that they are not supposed to be targets of both military and NPAs.

He also condemned the terrorists’ abuse that happened in the KASAMA-BUKIDNON Organization, “These NPAs never do good things but to only deliver terror in the lives of our farmers! I appreciate the bravery of the 167 members in putting an end to the misery you have been experiencing.”

The KASAMA-BUKIDNON members will be assisted by the Local Government Unit and Local Agencies to avail the programs and services of the government for them to start.
