January 31, 2020

Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija – The 48th Infantry (Guardians) Battalion, in collaboration with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Bulacan and the Local Government of Pandi, Bulacan, facilitated the solar lamp installation training at the Pandi Technological Institute in Pandi, Bulacan on January 27, 2020.

The 5-day training is set to provide technical education and skills to the 30 former KADAMAY members in the field of solar lamp installation.  Said training will also deepen understanding of the process and system used in turning solar energy into consumable energy.

Mr. Arthur R. Abaraca Jr., a TESDA Accredited Trainer and Electronic Products Assembly and Servicing (EPAS) NC II Lead Assessor, will share his insights and knowledge on solar lamp installation during the course of training.

The Commander of the Army’s 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Major General Lenard T. Agustin, said, “With the ‘whole of nation approach’ through Executive Order No. 70, plenty of opportunities have been proposed and acted upon by various government agencies to attain peace and development, and this solar installation training is one of those. With the Philippines being a tropical country, solar electricity should be given priority as one of our sustainable energy resource.”

Relatedly, Lieutenant Colonel Felix Emeterio M. Valdez, the 48IB Commander, added, “The 48IB will intensify its campaign, through E.O. 70, to give the underprivileged the necessary assistance and uplift their living conditions. We only require cooperation from you (the people) and be open to whatever opportunity our government, along with our stakeholders, can offer.”
