Fort Ramon Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija – The Army’s 48th Infantry (Guardians) Battalion joined the Philippine National Police and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Hermosa, Bataan in a meeting at the Hermosa Municipal Hall on March 19, 2020.
The meeting was set to discuss preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19 and protocols to be applied in the different barangays of Hermosa, to include the workers and employees of Hermosa Eco Zone and other industries.
Another meeting was also conducted with the Vice-President of Sumi Wiring Philippines to protect its laborers against COVID-19.
Mayor Joseph Inton of Hermosa presided the meeting which attended by Police Colonel Jesus Rebua, Director of Bataan Provincial Police Office; Lieutenant Colonel Felix Emeterio M. Valdez, Commanding Officer of 48IB; the President of the Association of Barangay Captain (ABC) of Hermosa; and, other LGU personnel.
After the meeting, Mayor Inton, Lieutenant Colonel Valdez and Police Colonel Rebua checked the Quarantine Assistance Station (QAS) at Barangay Palihan, Corner SCTEX Dinalupihan Exit in their conduct of quarantine assistance.
As of this writing, the Province of Bataan has reported one (1) COVID-19 infected person, 26 Persons Under Investigation (PUI) and 559 Persons Under Monitoring (PUM).
Major General Lenard T. Agustin, Commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division said, “COVID-19 exempts no one. Anyone could get infected. It is therefore necessary to include laborers and workers in the information awareness to stop the spread of the virus. This is a high security risk for our people and we must act vigilantly to stop it from multiplying.”
Relatedly, Lieutenant Colonel Valdez added, “Let us maximize the information dissemination to stop the spread of the virus. Everyone should be informed of the precautionary measures and protocol in order to gain full cooperation.”
